This gorgeous 18k gold necklace features an enamel French clasp with a newer filigree chain. One side of the clasp panel bears a shield surrounded with an enamel floral motif. The reverse is decorated with 3 enameled flowers, including pansies, or "pensées", meaning "thinking of you".
The clasp bears the ram's head hallmark in use in France from 1819 to 1838. These sentimental regional clasps from Normandy were typically used in bridal jewelry.
It can be worn as a featured centerpiece or, turn it to the back as any other clasp for a simpler look. A really easy necklace to layer or wear on its own.
This necklace measures 17" long, including the clasp. The links measure 13mm from end to end, the clasp, 20.3mm by 14.6mm. It weighs 7.9g. You will receive the pictured necklace.
