Antique Georgian Emerald & Diamond Ring
A genuinely beautiful piece of history to slip onto your finger. Dating to the late Georgian/Regency era (circa 1800–1830), this breathtaking five-stone hoop features a perfect alternating layout of three glowing green emeralds and two bright, antique-cut diamonds. Original Georgian emerald rings are incredibly rare to find today - because emeralds are naturally brittle stones, very few authentic hoops from this era survived the centuries without being broken or lost.
The central emerald is flanked by the diamonds, which are then bookended by two slightly smaller emeralds, creating a gorgeous gradient across the hand. Each stone is nestled into classic, multi-pronged crown settings that allow the light to catch them from every angle. The craftsmanship on the shank is spectacular, featuring heavily textured, hand-carved floral motifs and delicate gold beadwork on the shoulders. On the reverse, the setting features the smooth, soft enclosed under-gallery typical of early 19th-century rings, designed to sit flush against the skin. It captures all the moody, candlelit romance of the Georgian era, offering a rare window into the past for anyone who loves alternative luxury.
This low-profile treasure measures 4.3mm in height at its center and weighs approximately 1.26g. The band tapers from 2mm at the sides down to a delicate 1.3mm at the back, making it incredibly comfortable on the hand. The high-karat gold base tests between 15k and 18k, which perfectly matches the rich alloys used by artisans of the period. It is a size 6.5.
The central stone measures about 3mm x 2.7mm, the side emeralds about 2.5mm x 2.4mm and 2.5mm x 2.2mm. It remains in beautiful antique condition, preserving the genuine patina of its centuries-old journey, including a small chip on one corner of a side emerald visible under magnification.
