Acrostic jewelry was developed to relay terms of endearment to friends, family and lovers using the first letter of each gem to spell the intended sentiment. Begun in the Georgian era, these pieces increased in popularity across Europe during the Victorian era and are still often commissioned and worn today.
This dainty early 19th century Georgian example spells "REGARDS" in gemstones and makes a lovely addition to a luxe finger stack. In the Georgian era, "regard" held far more meaning than it does today. "I hold you in the highest regard" would have been more akin to "I love you" or "I'm crazy for you".
Rubies, emerald, garnet, diamond, sapphire... and a corundum/pink sapphire "A", set in silver with closed back on 15k gold. It weighs 0.4g and shows signs of a very well done previous sizing. It is a size 7. You will receive the pictured ring.
