Welcome to Black Umbrella Jewelry. All my handmade items are made by me in my home workshop using sterling silver, fine silver, copper and a collection of high quality turquoise and stones that I’ve collected over the years. All my listings offer thorough descriptions, including size, dimensions and materials used, so that you can make an informed purchase. ** Please take care not to bathe, immerse in water or engage in strenuous activity or exercise with any of my pieces. Handmade jewelry is delicate, especially pieces containing stones.
Some of my jewelry pieces have a patina. I put a thin layer wax on all my pieces to help preserve this patina however, oxygen and everyone's chemistry and oils are different and each piece will age differently depending on the individual. If you want to delay the change in patina of your piece, I suggest storing them in a tightly sealed plastic bag.
Canadian residents will be charged applicable sales tax.
Layaway is available on items above CAD$750 before tax. It is offered to help you purchase something you can afford. Please be certain you intend on completing a purchase before entering into a layaway agreement. A non-refundable 30% deposit is required to secure an item. Pre-planned and agreed-upon payments must be made every month and completed within 4 months. Failure to complete payment will mean the item is put back for sale on the website and any payments made thus far are forfeited. Please contact me to discuss. Layaway payments are not transferable - once you commit to buying an item, you cannot transfer payments already made to another item instead.
Black Umbrella Jewelry orders are shipped from Toronto, ON using Canada Post or USPS with tracking for orders to US and Canada. For orders to Australia, Europe and everywhere else, items are shipped either using Canada Post Small Packet - International Air or USPS.
** Please contact me BEFORE purchasing if you would like a quote for Fedex. Orders placed typically ship out between 2 to 3 business days after an order is placed and are shipped to the address listed on the invoice. Items ship in a jewelry box and either a bubble mailer or box, depending on quantity and size of purchase.
All jewelry items in Canada ($20.50) and US ($20.50) are shipped with tracking. Please allow at least 7-12 business days for delivery. Jewelry shipped to Europe is $22 via tracked mail. Please allow 12-21 business days.

* I am not responsible for customs delays and fees. * I do not ship to PO boxes. Please provide a physical address. Customs and duties are buyer’s responsibility. Please ensure that your country allows the import of silver, precious gems and jewelry from Canada before ordering.
My pricing is fixed and is the price you see on the site. My pricing is fair and consistent with current industry pricing. Please consider the cost of precious metals and gems and the time it takes to source, obtain, research, photograph and list pieces, which is all done by just myself. Prices may increase with the cost of gold, depending on how long they've been on the site.
Refunds and Exchanges
I do not offer refunds on merchandise. If you receive an item and are unhappy with it, please contact me and I will do my best to come up with a solution that will work for both of us. Please know your ring size before ordering and please look at all listing photos and item descriptions thoroughly. I do not issue refunds because a ring size was chosen by mistake or because of buyer's remorse. All sale items are final sale.
