The French "Ne Pas Perdre Le Nord" is an expression used from the middle of the 16th century and translates to "Don't Lose Your North"... don't lose your way
This is a wish token made by the Monnaie de Paris c. 1970, designed by the artist Raymond Corbin. On the front, a weathervane pointing north. On the reverse, "voeux les plus vifs", meaning "warmest wishes".
These wish tokens were meant to be exchanged between friends and lovers. Cast in bronze and dipped into 22k gold for a very luxurious look, it has been set in a generous 10k yellow gold frame.
This large pendant weighs approximately 15.2g and measures 1.25" x 1.25" (without the bail). The token itself is stamped with "BR" for bronze on its base, which is hidden by the gold frame. You will receive the pictured token.
