Rosemonde Gérard was a French poet and playwright. She is famous for the couplet below from her poem, “Les Vieux” (“The Old Ones”), that she wrote to her husband in 1889. The phrase became celebrated as an expression of ever-growing love when a Lyons jeweler, Alphonse Augis, had the idea of making a "Medaille d’Amour” (Medal Of Love) with the core portion of the verse engraved on it in 1907.

“Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t'aime davantage,
Aujourd'hui plus qu'hier et bien moins que demain.”

(For, you see, each day I love you more,
Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.)

The word “plus” is symbolized by a plus sign set with a diamond and “moins” is symbolized by a minus sign set with 2 synthetic rubies. Pendant face is signed A. Augis, with the French eagle head punch on the bail. Measures 20.3mm and weighs 4g.

Pendant retains it's aged patina - please let me know in your message at check out if you would like me to polish it.

Base price is for the pendant ONLY.  You may add an 18" 14k gold fill chain, if you wish.
