A sought after c.1800 Georgian half hoop ring with amethysts collet-set into 10-12k (tests) yellow gold on a beautifully chased foliate band.
The amethysts measure approximately 4.3mm in their settings. These would have been foiled originally but, a previous owner has opened the backs and used glue to reinforce, giving the amethyst an ametrine effect in some light.
This ring is a size 6 and weighs 1.3g. One amethyst on the end of row tests as glass. No hallmarks, in keeping with rings of this era. This ring can be sized by your jeweler. You will receive the pictured ring.
