The Egyptian Revival style was popular in American decorative arts throughout the nineteenth century, continuing into the 1920s, especially with the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. Having been hidden for most of its existence, many of its treasures remained and renewed fascination with ancient Egyptian art.
This beautiful c.1920 sarcophagus charm is crafted in silver and gilt and is decorated with beautiful enamel work. Inside, rare to find its original mummy laying in a gilt interior. Wonderful that the mummy was not lost through time.
This charm measures 29.2mm tall (without the bail) by 8.5mm at its widest and is 6.7mm deep. It weighs 2.6g with enamel in wonderful condition for its age. Closes securely. You will receive the pictured charm.
