Anuket Turquoise Necklace

Regular price Sale

Anuket was the ancient Egyptian goddess and personification of the Nile river. When the Nile started its annual flood, her festival began. Worshipers threw gold, jewelry, coins and other precious gifts into the river as a show of thanks to the goddess by returning gifts to her derived from the fertility she brought to their lands.

Turquoise is often referred to as the “people’s gemstone” in Egyptian culture. Turquoise amulets were often buried with mummies to ensure protection during their sojourn from the land of the living to the dead.

The Anuket necklace features a natural Turquoise Mountain cabochon set in a sterling and fine silver bezel flanked by a hand stamped sterling silver detail reminiscent of water and a sterling silver bead to symbolize money. The pendant measures just under 3/4" at its tallest point and just over 1/2" at its widest and hangs on a 16" sterling silver Italian chain. My maker's mark and sterling marker are hand stamped on the reverse. The pendant has been darkened and polished. You will receive the pictured necklace.

* Please send a message at checkout if you would like an 18" chain instead.
