This ornate Masonic Orb charm opens into a cross-shaped pendant. Its original Freemason owner would have worn this to discreetly show their membership into the brotherhood. This design typifies the great craftsmanship shown in Masonic jewelry, with the arrangement of small hinges not being visible from the exterior.
When opened the cross shape is formed by six pyramids, each showing four Masonic symbols. When the orb is laid out, it shows the structure of a lodge room and symbols sacred to Freemasonry. The left segment then represents the first degree, the upper segment represents the second degree and the lower segment represents the third degree.
This antique charm is crafted in 9k gold, interior gold over silver, measures approximately 11mm in diameter (without the bail) and weighs 3.6g. Made in England, c. 1920 and marked on base for 9ct & silver, folds in securely. You will receive the pictured charm.
