Elephant hair jewelry was popular amongst Victorians during the Raj-era. Souvenirs like this ring would have been brought home from faraway lands travelled to during “The Grand Tour”, where young English elites would travel around Europe and beyond to expand their horizons and learn about languages, geography, culture and the arts.
This ring has one elephant hair in a gold channel, pinched to hold the hair in place. It is a size 5.25. The ring is unmarked but has been professionally tested as 10k gold.
