In the Victorian Era, gentleman farmers used selective breeding to create fast-growing, heavy livestock. Plump cows, massive pigs, and large sheep were prized as proof of their owners’ success in breeding. Even Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband, began showing off his prized pigs and cattle. Pigs came to symbolize happiness, prosperity and good luck, thereby popularizing a style of lucky charm.
This little piggy was hand carved from iridescent mother of pearl and hangs from a 10k newly added gold ring.
This charm measures 23.2mm x 13.5mm, not including the bail and weighs 2.8g. You will receive the pictured charm. Chain not included.
