A scarce find, this pear-shaped Portuguese ring was crafted in silver in the early 1800s and features beautifully cut black dot pastes in closed back foiled collet settings. Black dot paste is one hallmark of very fine quality paste. The dot is thought to have mimicked the open culet of early diamond cuts, which often look quite dark or black.
The ring has been crafted in silver and measures approximately 22mm tall by 17.5mm at its widest. This ring is a size 6.5 and weighs 6.7g. It can be sized but, should be sized by a jeweller with experience with antiques due to age and foiling. You will receive the pictured ring.
