One story of the Keeper ring is that it dates back to the Victorian era where it represented that the receiver was worth "keeping". It was given as a pre-engagement ring before an official engagement even took place. The "Keeper's ring" is also known as a guard ring, which was initially used to keep a more precious ring securely on the finger, especially since many rings were worn over gloves and later, worn on its own. The braid in this ring is reminiscent of rope, or a fisherman's net, symbolic of unity and safety. Lovely sentimental statement for a pre-engagement, engagement, wedding or vow renewal or as a reminder of a special time or place.
This elegant 9k gold braided ring looks beautiful on its own or "keeping" another safe. It is in excellent vintage condition and fully hallmarked for London, 1987. This is ring is size 7.75, weighs 3g and is 7mm in width at the front, tapering to a smooth back. It can be slightly sized by your jeweler. You will receive the pictured ring.
