The French "Qui le sait?" translates to "Who knows?l" or... the moon and sun? Time? Knowledge? The future is untold.
This is a wish token made by the Monnaie de Paris c. 1970, designed by the artist Georges Lay. On the front, an esoteric depiction of the sun and moon (day and night) holding a book over an hourglass. On the reverse, "voeux les plus vifs", meaning "warmest wishes".
These wish tokens were meant to be exchanged between friends and lovers. Cast in bronze, it will be replated in 18k and set in a generous 10k yellow gold frame similar to the owl token shown in the last image.
This large pendant will weigh around an estimated 20g, including the approximate 9g 10k setting, and measure 1.25" x 1.25" (without the bail). The token itself is stamped with "BR" for bronze on its base, which will be hidden by the gold frame. You will receive the pictured token.
