This piece is inspired by the work of Arts and Crafts artists Nelson and Edith Dawson, who I discovered on a trip to London years ago. It is also inspired by Merricat Blackwood in Shirley Jackson’s “We Have Always Lived In The Castle” - her trips to the woods to offer up trinkets and her attachment to her long lost family’s jewelry.
Turquoise is associated with the throat chakra and is a stone associated with the sky. It helps promote honest and clear communication and is a powerful stone for relieving stress. It is also very powerful for healing and grounding.
The Blackwoods Necklace has been blackened to feel like an antique piece of heirloom jewelry. It features a natural solid and unbacked Carico Lake turquoise from Arizona in the center surrounded by natural Pinto Valley turquoise from Nevada. The centerpiece Carico piece measures 1 3/8“ tall by 1 3/8” wide and the overall height of all three bezels together measures 3 1/8“ long. It hangs 8" to top of first bezel on blackened Italian sterling silver chain. You will receive the pictured necklace.
