Lover's Heart Necklace

Prix régulier Solde

Rosemonde Gérard was a French poet and playwright. She is famous for the couplet below from her poem, “Les Vieux” (“The Old Ones”), that she wrote to her husband in 1889. The phrase became celebrated as an expression of ever-growing love when a Lyons jeweler, Alphonse Augis, had the idea of making a medallion with the core portion of the verse engraved on it in 1907.

“Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t'aime davantage,

Aujourd'hui plus qu'hier et bien moins que demain.”

(For, you see, each day I love you more,
Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.)

The Lover’s Heart necklace features a large Kingman turquoise heart with shimmery flecks of pyrite. It’s set in brushed fine and sterling silver and hangs on an 24" sterling silver Italian chain. The chain is adjustable via the wide chain loops. The heart measures approximately 1 5/8" at its widest point and 1 5/8" tall, not including the bail. You will receive the pictured necklace.
