An incredible and rare Victorian c. 1880 padlock bracelet comprised of beautiful banded agate cabochons with a heart padlock closure.
The Victorian era often used jewelry to communicate hidden romance and passion. It was during this period that heart shaped padlock jewelry was popularized as a symbol of love, fidelity and devotion.
The 7 striking agate cabochons are set into closed back convex settings and measure approximately 21.6mm by 18.3mm. The heart padlock slides through the latch to keep the bracelet closed and bears a glazed panel on the reverse. Likely English. Weighs 32g, 7.5" long and tests as 14k. You will receive the pictured bracelet.
