This modern revival three quarter eternity band is a high-luxury tribute to the grand Art Deco houses.

In 1994, H. Samuel was moving away from the "discount" image of the 1980s. High-gram weight 18k pieces with vintage-style diamonds were marketed to customers looking for "heirloom" quality. This example represents the top-of-the-line offering for a high-street buyer of that era - sturdy enough to be worn daily for decades while mimicking the glamour of the 1920s. It was part of a specific push to create heirloom-quality "Revivalist" jewelry using traditional, labor-intensive methods.

The heart of this ring is a continuous ribbon of twenty hand-cut single-cut natural diamonds. Unlike modern, machine-cloned stones, these were faceted by a master cutter’s eye and were specifically chosen for their romantic, architectural "flash."  Each diamond is set over an open square "azure" (light port). Each individual hand-filed squares provide maximum structural support while allowing light to travel cleanly through each stone.

This "over-engineered" foundation allowed a master engraver to perform intricate patterns on the profile - hand-chased and tactile scroll-and-leaf patterns carved directly into the gold.

Because this is a three-quarter eternity with a solid 18k gold sizing bar at the back, it offers the uninterrupted look of a full eternity with the comfort and professional resizing options that a full-circle band lacks.

This vintage ring was crafted in a sophisticated blend of 18k yellow gold and 18k white gold. The white gold serves as a brilliant backdrop for the 0.50ctw diamonds with milgrain borders, while the yellow gold provides a classic, substantial frame. It weighs approximately 7.37g and is a size 5. The band measures 6.3mm tall, tapering to 4.4mm to the center of the back. Hallmarked for London, 1994.  In wonderful condition - whomever this ring belonged to took exception care of it.
