There is no blue quite like the electric pulse of a natural antique zircon. These substantial drops are high-carat relics of the Belle Époque era.
Captured in different lights, the natural stones possess an extraordinary double refraction that causes light to bounce and split within them, creating a fiery, kaleidoscopic brilliance. Under direct bright light, they fire with a vivid electric azure, while in softer ambient light, they shift into a deep, moody sea-green teal.
With an estimated combined weight of about 5.4ct, these zircons are set in ornate 15k coronet settings featuring a protective cut-down collet frame at the base, allowing maximum light to flood the pavilions while anchoring the gems with exceptional security. This specific 15k gold purity was a prestigious British standard discontinued in 1932. They measure 9.6mm x 8.6mm, and the pair weighs about 3.74g, featuring their original, perfectly intact screw-back closures.
Their face-up appearance of these century-old zircons is beautifully balanced and symmetrical. Under a 10x jeweler's loupe at a very specific angle, one stone reveals a long, stable internal geological fissure. Because this fracture is entirely sub-surface and does not breach the exterior face of the gem, it remains smooth to the touch. In person, this hidden internal birthmark completely melts away, masterfully camouflaged by the intense double refraction and brilliant surface luster.
