Antique Art Nouveau French Virgin Mary Pendant by Guilbert - 18k

A beautiful antique French Virgin Mary pendant signed "GuilBert" for Ernest Guilbert.  It is engraved on the reverse with the date 1924.

This pendant measures 21.2mm at its widest by 18.4mm high (not including the top loop) and weighs 3.74g.  It is hallmarked with the French eagle head stamp for 18k gold.

Ernest Guilbert (1848-1920) studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, and was a pupil of Henri Chapu (1833-1891), sculptor and engraver. Guilbert is notably the author of numerous bronze sculptures and works visible in public spaces, including four listed by France's general inventory of cultural heritage and is noted for his Art Nouveau pieces.
