Watch chains, once used to carry watches and fobs, are now often used as great chokers and necklaces ideal for layering or adding charms.
This slightly rosy gold antique English Edwardian Albert chain is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1901. It measures 17" long, weighs 40g and is marked on each link and dog clip for 9k gold. The spring ring is an addition (likely replacing a fob). Both dog clips and bolt ring have working springs and close securely.
Hallmarking every link demonstrated the owner's commitment to quality and authenticity. The more links hallmarked, the higher the cost as the assay office charged for each mark. Hallmarking every link would have been expensive, making it a significant investment.
One dog clip and t-bar original to chain with maker "DB", second dog clip marked "JM" and slightly yellower spring ring unmarked. The extra bit of chain with spring ring could be used to extend the chain. You will receive the pictured chain.
