A beautiful and rare depiction of Saint Joan of Arc in silver and deep burgundy/red guilloché enamel. This Swiss charm hails from the art deco period and shows Saint Joan with a raised sword, encircle by the words "Johanne D'Arc" and "1431" around the edge. A border of white enamel enhances the image.
The reverse is stamped with "Importe de Suisse" and is etched with a beautiful border.
Guilloché enamel is a form of work that involves using a lathe to work the metal into a pattern and then enameling over that pattern. The result is an image that shimmers with life as light bounces off of it. An absolutely beautiful effect.
This charm measures 27.8mm without the bail and weighs 3.9 grams. It bears a few hallmarks but, I cannot make them out. You will receive the pictured charm.
